We
held our first tournament in 2002 with less than an acre of
sod. We have expanded our irrigated sod to over an acre,
cleaned up the wooded area for shade, and use the other farm
resources to assure clean tile restrooms, water, and an
atmosphere that is fun for all.
Our
first teen only tournament was held in 2004 with 75 girls
playing from as far west as Rome, south as Peachtree City
and east as Lawrenceville. While we encourage teens to
play with and against adults in all our tournaments this
will become a regular part of our offering.
In
the summer of 2005 we will have a camp for beginners to
intermediate players ages 10- 14. It will be conducted in
the evenings 6:30- 8:30 pm for a week in early June. It will
be coached by high school players that have been hand picked
from the best that the metro area has to offer. Their love
of the game, ability to teach skills, helps to assure
success and enjoyment for your child. If you are interested
please email us and we will add you to our mailing list for
camp.
Contact Bill
at the farm if there are any questions about volleyball in
general in the metro area. He has coached club teams,
refereed high school, attended national and regional
coaching clinics, supported his daughter in high school and
club ball, watched a couple hundred hours of lessons, and
has been part of the college recruiting process. What all
that really means is that he has a lot of experience that he
is willing to share with others. Remember he cuts an acre of
sod weekly so a handful of people can slap a white ball over
a net. ItÂ’s fun to be able to talk to some one that cares.
